Subject DescriptionThe Certificate II in Outdoor recreation is run in accordance with the nationally recognised Outdoor Recreation Training Package. Therefore qualifications gained are recognised throughout Australia and will account as “Recognition for Prior Learning” for further tertiary studies in related outdoor recreation areas. The content is designed to cover outdoor recreation activities in all industry sectors and within all types of organisations. Outdoor recreation competencies are closely aligned with the Employability Skills defined by the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations as competency standards that accurately reflect industry requirements. The Certificate II in Outdoor Recreation provides the learner with the opportunity to acquire skills to participate in several outdoor recreation activities under supervision and to assist in conducting those activities or to complement those skills with a specialisation chosen from several non-activity areas.
